Car parking

  • Children should walk around the school quietly at all times.

  • Watches may be brought to school at the owner's responsibility.  Electronic watches should be silenced or the child will be asked to leave the watch at home. Smart Watches are not allowed in school.

  • No toys should be brought to school.  No jewellery should be worn in school (with the exception of children with pierced ears who may wear "studs", except for swimming and games when they should be removed for safety).

  • The grass bank by the classrooms is not for play at any time.

  • Children should walk around school using the paths, including when going to and from school.  Children should not cross the car park unless supervised.

  • No child should leave the premises without the school's knowledge.

  • Children should not be in the classroom before school or at playtime unless supervised.

  • No child or group of children may use the classroom fire door unless in an emergency or if directed to use the door by a teacher.

  • There should be no sweets or toys brought to school.  Parents may wish to send a "snack" for the child to eat at morning playtime.

  • Children are expected to line up quietly for the start of morning and afternoon school.

  School Driveway and Parent Parking
Please be aware that the school drive and car park should not be used by parents except for medical emergencies or collecting children from after school clubs. The gates to the drive at the front of school should be kept closed during school hours.
To ensure the safety of all our children at the beginning and end of the school day parents must not use the school driveway (unless there is a medical emergency). In line with the 'Park & Stride' initiative in our Active Travel Policy we request that you use the free car park opposite the school and allow your child to stride across with our school crossing patrol.
We have teamed up with the Hertfordshire School Travel Team to create a Parking Pledge, so that we can declare our commitment to the children, the school and to other road users. Those parents that are happy to sign our new Parking Pledge will receive a ‘Don’t Be a Road Monster’ sticker to display in their car window, as a visual display of their commitment.
Here's a little reminder from some local school children...
