About Bishop Wood Buddies

Bishop Wood School Association, known as Bishop Wood Buddies, is managed by a committee of parents and staff, the parents being elected at an annual general meeting held each September or October. New faces on the committee will always be welcome.

As a PTA our focus is firmly based on raising funds for the school to enhance our children’s education and recreational needs by hosting fun events for the whole family to enjoy. The Bishop Wood School Association’s constitution states that, of the annual sum donated to the school, 75% should be spent on major projects and 25% should be allocated to smaller items.

Buddies has two functions:

As a fund-raising organisation, we aim to pay for the extras which make the school more effective and enjoyable for our children.
To organise the social events which bring parents and school closer together.

Throughout the year Buddies combine these two functions by putting on events including discos for children, quizzes for grown-ups as well as family events such as the ever popular Snail Race Night and the Summer Fayre. The Autumn term is always busy with lots of seasonal activities. Buddies help administer the children’s Christmas card designs, pay for and decorate the Christmas Tree, provide refreshments at the Christmas Concert and organise and run the Christmas Market. It is a lovely time of year in school and a great way to get involved with children and other parents.

Buddies Pre-Loved Uniform Shop

You may have spotted our lovely new shed at the back of the playground near the Christchurch Road Gates. This is your new pre-loved uniform shop!

How it works:

Inside the shed are multiple boxes, labelled in sizes. Each box contains a mixture of uniform in those sizes
Please help yourself whenever you need anything.
There is a QR code (one inside and one outside) for you to scan which will take you to a payment link. Please make a voluntary donation if you can, if you are unable to that's fine too!
Please ensure you close the shed up properly after use.

Please DO NOT add any donations to the boxes, we still have a vast amount of uniform to re-stock from that we are keen to clear so we can use the space for more fun things for the children!!

Once we have space we will let you know when we can accept donations again. We have some fabulous volunteers who will keep an eye on stock levels and top up when needed.

If you still have uniform you no longer need please feel free to add to the recycling bin by the Frogmore gate as that also raises funds for Buddies.
