The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum in a safe, stimulating and caring environment which allows everyone to achieve, develop, learn and grow.
Our SEND Leader, Miss Jayne Williamson, can be contacted directly via senco@bishopwood.herts.sch.uk
Our Current SEND Areas for Development
- Development of pupil voice for pupils with SEN.
- Training and implementation of ‘Ordinarily Available Provision’.
- Implementation of targeted interventions, particularly in Maths and Phonics..
- Audit of teacher skills and knowledge.

Each day our school makes many decisions and tries our hardest to do the very best for all the children. Your comments are helpful for future planning. Hertfordshire Local Offer
LOCAL OFFER FROM HERTFORDSHIRE
As part of the SEN reforms, Hertfordshire County Council has to provide access to information of what is on offer across the county.
The purpose of the local offer is to provide clear, comprehensive and accessible information about the support and opportunities that are available for all children and young people with SEND aged 0-25 and their families (not just those who have an Education, Health and Care Plan.)
Please follow the link for further information on the Hertfordshire Local Offer.

Pastoral Support at Bishop Wood
We are fortunate to have Mrs Matthews as our Pupil Support Worker. Mrs Matthews works closely with many children and families across the school, providing support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and wellbeing. If you would like to discuss your child's needs or have any questions about support that may be available, please speak to your child's class teacher in the first instance, who will be happy to advise and liaise with Mrs Matthews where appropriate.
